Vietnam Community of Practice

Our 1-year CoP project is a testament to the wide-ranging perspective and co-construction of competence (knowledge, attitude, and behavior) in light of the English-as-a-Foreign-Language (EFL) educators (including, but not limited to, Vietnamese EFL lectures, practitioners, instructors, K-12 teachers, and emerging scholars) who need more experience in research from distinctively sociocultural contexts. For this moment, we find it very crucial to determine how we can help our Vietnamese lecturers, also known as EFL emerging scholars and local practitioners working in the context of Vietnamese higher education. We aim to strengthen the funds of knowledge for the project participants, covering your better recognition and understanding of what has intensively and extensively happened in your own and others EFL teaching settings, from which you would be able to challenge the status quo by questioning the strengths and weaknesses, framing your own scholarly understanding, and finally delving yourselves to unfold – conceptualize - and research what has not been clarified. Therefore, you can accomplish the transformation of your and other inside comfort zones, classrooms, school settings, and outer communities.
